New Flash Before EGR Delete?

1. I have an 04.
2. I'm getting ready to do an EGR delete
3. I'm concerned I may get a CEL on after I do the delete or pop some codes
4. Should I get my truck updated w/the new flash from the dealer before I do the EGR delete?
5. Will this new flash update cause my CEL to come on after I do the EGR delete?
6. Should I get my truck updated w/the new flash from the dealer before I do the EGR delete?

I did an EGR delete on my 04 and never had a CEL or other issues. I'm not going to get a new flash until I get a tuner that can remove the EGR from the computer.
