when i was using the edge attitude monitor i had it routed thru the steering column and set it directly on top of the steering column. had it that way for a few months till i got analog gauges. i could not see the gear selector but it was never a real issue. it looks from the size of it though that you would have alot of stuff blocked by doing that though

Ok DashDaq pros I have a question. I have a Spartan and I am trying to monitor EGTs. I have a K type thermocouple and a phidgets adapter. I cant get it to work. I think it may be because my usb into mini usb converter is b type and it needs to be a type? Do I need a license from Drew Tech?

I am pretty sure you need a firmware update and I think you get that by purchasing it. Does it even show up in the analog listing for sensors?

All I have that show up on mine is oil pressure, but I don't use it, I actually use it for gauges that aren't covered by my analog ones, so I don't have hands on experience with the phidgets. Firmware is the extent on mine.

No new pics Brad, I have been waiting on my final decision on how to route the cable. I just do not like the options. I am going to try something today if I have time. I will post pics within the next week though.

My original pics (in my album) are here:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...p?albumid=7325

I have modified the mount a little so I can stack my GPS under the DashDAQ (I know, the DASHDAQ can be a GPS also, but I already had a good GPS).

If you have an extra GPS you're having problems using you can always send it my way pal. I'll find it a good home .

Is it possible to turn or reroute the OBDII port so you can move that plugin out of your way. Seems I remember someone doing that before.

LOL - My son looks for the GPS in my truck everytime he comes home (it was a gift from him).

Thanks for the tip on the OBDII port Tim. It would help a little and I had not even considered that! The big issue is the orientation at which the cord plugs into the DashDAQ. That orientation just requires the cord to come straight back for an inch or two from where it is mounted.

I just looked at the pic's in your gallery and saw your predicament. Didn't realize you had it mounted in the center of the truck. Too bad you can't take them straight back next to the firewall and go down, but that would mean some serious work. IIRC there may be enough slack in the OBDII port wiring to move or turn it slightly. If I had to have something plugged in there all the time I would have it kicked out with my big feet--LOL. Maybe a little reengineering is required.

I searched your albums and couldn't find that one. I guess I better brush up on my skills. I don't think that looks to shabby the way it is. By the way, those Wet Okole seat covers look good.

Hey Brad I have the Wet Oalkes in my truck if you want to come down and put your hands on a set and see them.

Mark I did turn my OBD port around, so there is enough play in the harness to do so.

Finally took some pics of my second pass at mounting the unit. I like this better. The previous mounting was up high and a little more visible, but I didn't like the cord issue AND it was a little too visible for my comfort level (lots of break-ins around here).

I still might relocate the OBD plug, but for now, it seems OK.
