Bumper

I was given a rear bumper the other day by my father in law and it looks great. The thing is it was bolted to an 80s chevy shortbed pickup. Will this bumper work with my '65 F100 Styleside?

Your father in laws doesn't like you at all, you might make it work but the gas mileage will drop to 2-3mpg.

The chebby bumper is not a good donor match as it doesn't have the same blood type. Your truck will eventually reject it. It may have other adverse side effects (especially from other true blue ford owners) or cause mental anguish and embarrassment to your truck. Not a risk I would be willing to take...

I would question the width difference; The brackets of oem (65-66) are repop's now; so you could beable to modify the difference though.

Anything up to 1972 is the right width.

Have you forgotten something? Or mebbe you are unaware that...

1973/79 F350 Regular Cab's on the 140" wheelbase & 1973/77 F250 4WD's (High Boy's) have the same rear frame rail width (33 1/2") as 1961/72's.

Mitch: The four Styleside rear bumper brackets: C4TZ17787A right inner / C4TZ17788A left inner / C4TZ17795A right outer / C4TZ17796A left outer...fit:

1964/66 F100/250 2WD's / 1966 F100 4WD's / All 1967/72 F100/350's.

1973 and later brackets are slightly different on the above trucks with the same rear frame rail width, because Ford changed the bumpers.
