reading spark plugs
So while helping a neighbor change the plugs on his 65 pickmeup, we decided to get out the old magnifying glass and take a good look at the old plugs. They looked good in color but we found very small cone shaped deposits on the grounding/side strap ! I remember reading years ago where such deposits on the side strap and deposits on the tip mean different things. Anyone know anything about this or a site where it talks about more then just colors and oil on the plugs ?

I believe that I have read that black specks, especially tiny black specks, means aluminum is being blasted off the pistons as you are way into the pre-detonate region.
