These air filters hardly ever need changing, unless you are driving dirt roads all the time. They hold 3lbs of dirt in them. The cost vs. length actually makes them compairable to the gassers if not cheaper. I bought my truck 1 year ago next month and the filter is still in great shape.

I had sticker shock also when I first saw this. This is my first diesel. This site sure has informed me quickly on its ins and outs.

everything is expensive on these trucks but its like that on the other diesels too... maintenance is key... I just was wondering if I could be a cheapskate and get the 17 buck filters... I kinda wondered if maybe racor made them for prime guard... Only thing i dont like on your siggy is that edge insight

What's wrong with the edge insight? It is just a monitor that gives a ton more info than dash or pillar pods. Have you had issues with it? It has been working great for me once I figured it out.

Be a cheapskate on these trucks filters and maint. and you will wish you had paid double for the filters. The new generation diesels will make you a pauper quick if you cut corners on them.

The edge insight is just a monitor, it does not do any programming to the vehicle.

No problem. I dont want to do anything in the tuner category areas. There are lots of guys who swear buy the SCT programmers but it isnt for me. The truck already has plenty of power with some to spare for what I do with it.
