I'm working on cleaning up a '69 F250, and am having a hard time finding some replacement 'Camper Special' emblems. Wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to find a couple?

If the truck is all original with 49,000 miles, why would you want to remove something that is original to it and hard to find?
These nameplates have pins on the backside, the sheetmetal has holes for the pins to fit into. Barrel clips are used to retain the nameplates.
So...if you remove the nameplates, what will you do with these holes...fill them in?
There is no way to tell if a truck is a Camper Special...or not, by the VIN or any codes on the Warranty Plate.
Once the nameplates are removed, the truck loses its Camper Special identity.
i just dont care for the look of the emblems iwas going to fill the holes i was thinking about doing this with all emblems but youve made me think twice about it ill have to think some more
Mine were faded and I lucked out at a junk yard on a truck that had two nice ones! I think I paid $1.00 each. Not bad for something you can't buy as NOS. Your best bet is junk yards or trades - I haven't seen the CS emblems for sale anywhere, but most other emblems are available.
I have a 71 and I think they are differant. The 71's are rectangles. BTW - I threw the one away that was totally gone and only have the one extra which I am going to keep. They are on junk yard trucks all the time - at least in CA.
Hi!
I hae a very nice 1970 FORD F250 Camper Special w Happy Travelr Camper in very nice condition, but it is missing a vertical emblem that goes in the middle of the bench seat and I was wondering what it was, so that I can look for it (there are 2 holes, one over the other where it used to be).
Also, I am looking for the green shoulder strap seat belts? any ideas?
Finally, the odometer only shows 8K miles on it...I know that it is probably not accurate, but I am only the 3rd owner and I have the CA Pink Title dated 1/19/73, so is there any was to find out the actual mileage?

Just like today, Ford Dealers back then sent F100/350's and Econolines to RV dealers for all sorts of conversion work.
If the seat cover was replaced by the RV dealer, the emblem will be specific to it. If the emblem is genuine Ford (I've never seen one on trucks of this vintage), Ford only sold the emblem with the seat cover.
Shoulder belts: You will need more than just the shoulder straps, you will also need two...specific to shoulder belt...lap seat belts, one for either side.
When (optional) shoulder straps were installed in these trucks, the R & L lap seat belts have two buckles per side. One for the tongue of the lap belt, one for the tongue of the shoulder belt.
The odometers of these trucks read to 99,999.9 miles, then return to ZERO. This means your truck could have 8,000, 108,000, 208,000 miles or who knows?
There is no way to ascertain what the actual miles are, unless the truck was a one owner, who was as honest as the day is long, and saved every receipt from day one.
If the truck had more than one owner, how many times was it sold off a used car lot? Used Cars dealers were in-famous for rolling back the mileage.
I am trying to find barrel clips, anyone know where i can find some.
I too, am trying to find camper special emblems. I broke both of mine during removal in preparation for paint.

378362-S102 .. Barrel Clip / Used with 1967/69 Camper Special script nameplate (C7TZ16720H) / Obsolete
Sources with the largest quantity (no one in the 11 western states has any):
GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 49 = 800-543-4959.
SOEBY MOTOR CO. in Walhalla ND has 68 = 701-549-3711.
---------------------------------------------------------
1970/72: The Camper Special Emblem (DOTZ16720D) is different than the script nameplate used 1967/79. The barrel clips (375890-S102) are also different.
Barrel clips (usually supplied by the Aveco Fastener Co.) can be purchased from automotive paint supply stores, where body shops buy their supplies.
My 1967 F250 Camper Special was missing one of the Camper Special emblems and I was able to locate one but it has 3 of the 4 barrell clips missing. Question #1 is does someone know the part # for these specific barrel clips? Question #2 is how will new barrell clips attach to the emblem? Thanks! (great website for Ford truck guys)
