1966 F250 Camper Special Fender Emblems

Any suggestions on where I could find a pair of Camper Special Fender Emblems for a '66 F250. My local classic car parts shop no longer carries them, and so far no joy on ebay.

Do you need the whole emblem or just the plastic insert?

just the plastic insert would be fine, but I may need the whole emblem if it is damaged while removing it. Thanks

The plastic inserts were never supplied by Ford, only furnished with the emblem. 1965 is a different emblem than 1966.

These inserts were reproduced by Carolina Classics in Durham NC, but I don't know if they're still available: carolinaclassics.com

The fender emblems have pins on the back, are held to the fender with barrel clips. Gently pry on each side of the emblem till it comes off.

A plastic putty knife works well and won't damage the paint if used properly.

I forgot to mention: The inserts are retained to the emblem with little tabs that have to bent outwards to R&R the inserts.

Care must be taken, because these tabs were not designed to be bent, and can snap off.

I just bought a pair from Sacramento Vintage Ford. They were pretty cheap.

The emblems are the same right and left as the seller pointed out, but if you read the ad again, you'll see that the seller said he only has ONE.

Thanks for all the info. I am going to start removing all of the body trim this week in preparation for getting the truck repainted. I can tell that I will need to replace some of the trim hardware because it is really rusted out in some areas. Fortunately most of the trim itself looks pretty good. I just have one or two pieces that are missing which I'll need to find replacements for.

Eric

I made a bunch like this one in both red and black background but was too time consuming with so many other projects. I recently saw some for sale but the script is not very accurate.

1966 F250 red camper special emblem

Good morning.....

Not sure if this is where my original thread started, but I asked about a pair of camper special 1966 fender emblems and I remember you made a few of them. At the time, you mentioned having a pair of black ones still available??? Are they still available? Appreciate your time.

Eric

I'm planning to make some later this summer or early fall, but only in red. I'll make a post when they're available. The optically clear acrylic has been bought up to make Covid guards at cash registers. My nephew has a plastics business in Texas so he's going to make me some blanks and I'll add the graphics.
