Fixed!!!

My bucking/jerking problem has been fixed. It was the #4 injector. The dealership was amazing. They did it under warranty because I first complained about the problem before 100K miles. I had just hit 100K miles when I parked it at the dealership. I left it with them one more day so they can clean the other injectors with a "new" machine they have. They said I had another injector that was questionable, but Ford would not approve it for replacement. I wish I knew that before they put it together because I would have paid for it. Anyway they said that they had great luck with the injector cleaning in the recent past so I don't mind going that route.
I did speak to the mechanic and he suggested 15w-40 synthetic and not the 5w-40. Said this truck needs the 15w-40. I figure it must have something to do with the climate. (I live in the south).
Since this dealership saved me so much money I will be bringing it back for a trans and coolant flush because they truly do deserve my business.
I really did like my GM vehicles in the past, BUT not once did I ever experience this kind of service at any of their dealerships.

I travel exclusively in the south. I live in Texas and in Tennessee and I use 5-40 all year round for 2 yrs and no issues. There are a lot of people that use 5-40 all year round that have had no ill affects of it being 5-40. So really the fact that it needs it(if it truly needed it, it would have been regardless of the climate) to me sounds like he is following a script.

As to the cleaning doing the job, I would actually wait awhile to make sure that it truly worked. Some people experience good things long term benefits of a cleaning, either from Ford or by using an a/m stuff, but sometimes it comes back. I'm not saying that it is the case here, but it's a possibility. I would reserve the final say until it's been awhile longer.

I'm with you guys too, I've been using 5w40 synthetic year round since I bought the truck, it loves it. The climate varies greatly here, and I tow heavy in the summer, and mostly in town in the winter.

my thoughts on "injector cleaning" service.. yet another wallet flush.

hears the deal the nozzle max pressure is aprox 7.5 times icp so figure 7.5x3000 and you get 22500 psi of fuel pressure at the tip of the nozzle. so lets say you manage to plug the tip with soomething that will hold up to 22,500 psi of pressure. Now wtf is going to unplug it?

my .02

Yeah if you've got something that wil hold back that amount of pressure, you can do all the cleanings you want but you've go bigger issues than a cleaning is going to handle.

One of the main reasons I left the dealership and opened my own shop, they were always trying to cram flushes, cleanings, and addititves down the customers throats.
