what i'm doing is buying all my part for my truck i have a 250 1976 ford i have a 360 in and its fine good motor for me does a good job for what i use the truck for i want to make it a automatic what size of trany would be good for this truck that would bolt up to this motor .............
im pretty sure a c6 would bolt up to it.....their good trannys...dont forget if its a 4 speed ur going to need a new steering column....and what do u use the truck for...and lets see some pics!!....also welcome to FTE alot of great guys on here that can awenser any question you may have!!!

Thanks this sight has been so helpfull. What i do with my truck, i have a newer ford but people always are comming up to me and tell me about there story about there truck or what where they doing in 1976. There endless storys that why i love my old truck and what i do with it nothing just take it to work back in garage it goes in the garage, my wife ask me why i dont put the new truck in the garage i tell her that the new one dont have no strap over my 250 she thinks im funny.

Another option is to mount an auto floor shifter, I used one from an old Mustang and did some custom work on the linkage, I also had to heat the shifter lever to take the bend out of it because it would hit the bench seat.

thats true you can convert it to auto on the floor...but i personally like it on the column if its an auto....i just dont think they look that good being on the floor unless its a 4 speed.
