What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?

Over the last week pulled the motor for a rear main leak, pressure washed frame. Decided to replace some of the other parts, oil pump, timing chain and so forth while it was out.
Today after changing to the rear main seal i proceeded to snap off one of the main cap bolts. I thought I was going to have a stroke. After I calmed down and had consulted google, went back out and took the other bolt out and pulled the cap, there was just enough bolt sticking out to get a punch on and was able to turn it out. Now i'm on the hunt for a new set of bolts.
TW was set to 105 too, so i'm guessing stressed bolts.

Well, since 2011, when my dad sold both my 76 and my 78 out from under me, I haven't had a dent-side. But, on Halloween, I changed that, and bought this solid old 75 highboy, crew cab. It sports a tired, but reliable 360 with a C6, and has been updated to full power steering.
Plans include: repowering to a built 300 I-6, NP435, new leaf springs, beefier drive-lines, and lockers, to make the ultimate hunting rig.

Just got my 77 F150 2 weeks ago. Had to fix a few things to get it road safe, but now it's indeed road worthy.
Today:
pressure wash the gunk & crud (& loose paint) off of exterior
vacuum out the grime & garbage
fix the ash tray (change holder)
lube the door hinges
remove all the weird stickers PO had on it
break off rear view mirror while trying to remove off of bracket (make note to get mirror glue for windshield to mount new mirror)
I didn't have time to get under or behind seat yet, but I'm 10 cents richer...

Changed my rear main seal - broke one main bolt and two others went soft while torquing to 105. Everything seemed find at 80, but after that things went south. Not all the bolts were the same tightness when removed but I suspected improper installation at some point in the past, now I suspect some sort of fatigue caused them to loose tension.
Head bolts had the same lack of uniform tension and had some corrosion, so I'm not chancing it with them and reaching into the bottom of the wallet for bolt money.
Pulled the valves on one head - all the seals were hard as rock, broken or completely gone. Already planned on changing them, but after seeing the pieces floating around in the heads i'm glad i picked up an oil pump too. Took so long cleaning the crud off the valves I almost tossed them and bought new ones, seat surfaces look good though. I might still get new ones if the bolts don't break the bank.

Finally got tires on the thing that are safe to drive on. Going to yank the driveshaft tomorrow and put new bearings in it. Got the heater box reassembled and the fan works good albeit noisy. I broke the temp control cable on the heater, so I've got to find a source for one of those, but other than that I'm pleased.
It was good to hear that old 360 thunder to life this afternoon.
