My truck is my daily driver as well as my work horse when needed. I drive over 70 miles round trip to work every day and don't want to stop every other day for fuel. Also my drive to pick up my kids on my weekends is about 140 miles round trip. Seems everything I do is long distance. When this last tranny went out it was only 58 days in the truck I already had 4000 miles on it.
my front tank is plastic.
i dunno the capacity.no manual was in the glove box.
iv filled it,but don't remember what it took.now i know its punctured so i can't fill it.
I had a 81 that had a rear plastic tank that was quite a bit larger than stock, so I'm sure it was aftermarket. I couldn't tell you how much it held because it leaked faster than the fuel pump would pump, so I just decided the plastic tanks were best left on the dodges.
i love the plastic tanks.they dont rust out.
iv never had one with a puncture before.
i was looking at car-part.com and saw a local bone yard, had one for a 1991 with a 23 gal plastic tank.i wounder if this is the same?it's like 55 bucks just a couple towns away.
i take it "mid ship" means the front side tank? not many other options other than "rear" lol.(oh nevermind its listed as this:under cab, plastic (23 gal) on this site lol.i was checking out a few places last night.)
edit,
when you go to car-part.com and select the year, then fuel tank, you can see quite a few options.if its accurate the front tanks that came steel are 19 gal.
and looks like the plastic is 23 gal.
interesting.
