Hi, guy down the road is trying to get me to buy his 67 f100-150? (not sue yet) cheap I guess because I have the two 65s in my drive I think. My question is are there any parts you guys might think of I could use on this truck for my 65 highboy rebuild interior, exterior anything that would fit or maybe upgrade? For example Would a 67 have power steering? never really stopped and looked at this truck because I knew it was not the same as mine what do you guys think?
A '67 will probably not give you much at all. It was the first year for the boxier shaped body. Aficionados of the '67 - '72 body styel affectionately call them "bumpsides" for the protruding lateral body line.
It is essentially a '67 body on a '66 frame and suspension, and has many unique '67 only body parts.
Sheetmetal is different series "bumpside" 65 is "slick" everything other that things related to body is same as your trucks. Nothing much for donor unless you are needing in the chassis area.
Sorry you will need to look 73-79 for the beloved upgrades.

so what kinda upgrades are we talkin john on the 73-79 I know where I can find a 75 I think for next to nuttin
Thanks for your help guys if anybody is doing a 67 and needs a part or a truck I may be able to help them out I think prob will go ahead and drag the old girl home as the owner only wanted $50 bucks, The grills worth twice that at the least ebay here I come! lol!!
You can get the decent power steering from later bumpsides and all dentsides. For disc brakes, listen to John on the 73-79. You will also find tilt and cruise with some 78-79. All of these are nearly bolt-in for the 65-66.
I'd love to get the hood if it's not rotten. I'd also like the radio, working or not I want to take the Kraco out of mine and a stocker to fill the hole.
from what I have been told, but not actually tested myself, the steering column looks like our original ones, but it's a lot easier to add the power steering if the bumpside has it, regardless of year tho (67-79) I have been told you need to shorten the column.
and imo, the 74-79 steering columns just look horrible in a slick...

The hood is the same 1967/72, but the hood side emblems, radio, radio ***** and bezel are 1967 only.
In addition...1967 only:
Heater, brake/clutch pedals, bracket they hang from under the dash, master cylinder, power booster, dash and instrument cluster bezels, firewall.
Door shells, window regulators, door lock remote controls, door latches and related linkage rods, inside door and window crank handles, armrests, vent frames, vent handles.

Most all 73-79 F Series have power disc brakes, & power steering, and those items are a direct bolt hole exchange for your truck.
Find a donor with the engine & tranny that you have or want to swap to buy it drop the I-beams and steering gear, slide them over bolt em up in your truck along with the column.
I had a FE 3spd, and wanted automatic, 76 FE C6 became my donor. I found one with a fairly tight front end, bolted that front end under my 66 and it remained aligned.
The hood is the same 1967/72,Not exactly, the 67 hood is a little different. In 68 the front inner support was given support ribs. Also the 67 hood has two rubber bumpers, where the others have four. but the hood side emblems, radio, radio ***** and bezel are 1967 only.
