Diagnostic tool purchase?
Ok, Im trying to avoid the rape at the dealer and know what to expect when I walk in with problems. I am having issues now and have a CEL but cant find or dont know of a good Powerstroke shop in the Royal Palm Beach Florida area, so I figured I would become more informed myself and buy a scan tool or diagnostic software. Im new to PS diesels so I am asking for comments on what to buy that will give me the most for my money. Not sure but I would like to try to be somewhere in the $500 range that would be about 4 trips to the shop to repay.. Thanks for any information.

Best bang for your buck is autoenginuity with the ford enhansments. that thing is sweet. I have one and many people on this site do as well. it is probably the closest thing you can get on the market to the one that ford uses with out buying theres. witch is upwards of $1000 I have been told. you can get the autoenginuity with the ford enhancements for around $300-$350. I got mine from Clay at riff raff diesel for $320. this thing can do amazing thing from read and clear DTC to recalabrate the speedometer to running individual system test to see if something is wrong that is not throwing codes.

i went in with 3 guys from work on mine. We paid $360 or so with shipping. Well worth it. I am still tring to figure everything out it will do.

Me also but the eco tune almost got me killed 65 mph and some crazy low rpm setting?
I have tried to get ahold of them via email and phone but no luck yet .. i bought all 3 tunes but now I wish I just went street / performance instead of str/eco tow/
but they sent them out without contact

thanks ! I have the page open still and it won't accept any password? it keeps kicking the page back with the password feilds blank and no other indication of a bad feild
crazzy EDIT so I try again and it states bad login name but left the pasword feild full ,,,, so I try to log in and have the password sent to me this works
