Thank you for your order. Please keep this invoice for your records.
I'd like to get a scan tool as well. Is there one that works on the Mac OS? As far as I can tell, the Auto Enginuity program only works on Windows. I'd rather spend $1000 a year at the dealer for diagnostics than have a copy of Windows on my computer.

I know exactly what you mean man, I actually bought a cheap laptop top just for AE and my DP Tuner software. You might consider that, plus it makes it easy if you ever drop it out of the truck, not like it was the mac

You can run a program like Parallels in order to run a virtual program version of Windows(windows 7 is much better, it actually runs a lot like a MAC OS then the others) and be able to get that program on there.
Out of all the specialty software that I have only 2 have versions for both platforms. Ranch Manager and Adobe Illustrator, the other 8 only have Windows only versions. So I think it's the nature of the beast, but I really do like Windows 7.

Exactly! I run my Autoenginuity software in parallels on my MacBook Pro. It works great without issue.

I have thought about that. My philosophy is that if they don't make it for a Mac, then they haven't earned my business.

On the list of things I'd never do, putting Windows on any of my Macs is second only to leaving my daughter unsupervised with Bill Clinton.
I truly didn't mean to hijack the thread. I guess my question is answered. No scan tool for me until someone makes one that is Mac compatible.

No, no PC/MAC based scan tool for you right now. You can still get a scan tool that is it's own device. There are some that allow for some freeze frame data and extra stuff, you just can't do the extensive system actuation unless you have something on a computer.
I seriously doubt that they will make something exclusively for the MAC. Good or bad the MAC is usually thought of as for graphic artists and Windows tends to attract more the business people. AE is more related to a business type of software then graphic artist(I'm not saying that it's not a business, just not along the same lines as the business I'm talking about here) type like Illustrator(I really do like that program, made my avatar using CS4).
I spoke with Clay at Riffraff and it was a breeze. I ordered the AE with Ford bundle and hopefully when it arrives I can post the info so I can get the 250 rolling again.
Clay, thanks for all your time explaining and going over the information. I would certainly recommend you to others.
I am not impressed with the auto ingenuity ! the hype was way more than the product could deliver ,,it crashes( only program that does on my comp) , can't save/ open it's own files properly , the super duty doesn't support the full compliment of diagnostics do to weight ( that would have been good to know before I wasted 300 $ ) the user manual sucks .. and my Edge insight and SCT have way better display properties and graphing ,, just not all the inputs ,,

Maybe I'll just stick with my Spartan Phalanx with the extra ford license. Thanks for the report.

I've never had a problem with my copy of AE. I've run it on 2 laptops, a netbook and I have a copy of it on my tower as well(just for viewing the files that needed to have their template to view correctly). All with various different Windows OS(XP, Vista, and 7). I could think of a few errows that would cause issues like you describe though. But those errors could happen to any program though.
I'm not sure about what you mean by what's in bold. Diagnostics are going to vary from type of vehicle to the next, but there is a crap load of support for the 6.0 particularly with the 8.1 version. Now there isn't going to be as much compared to a gasser or to the later diesels(6.4 and 6.7), but there is a lot already there. This is along the same lines were the OBD-II gauge monitors tell you that sensor availability varies between vehicle to vehicle. You aren't going to be able to pull the same things from a 5.4 compared to a 6.0.
it just can't compare to the hype ! I thought it was going to be three times the tool because of all the bs from forum members ,, it is slow ,, it saved files when prompted ,, but then wouldn't open them and stated they were the wrong file type? I had to manually change that ,, and aside from the dissapointment the manual sucks ,,
and they should have a better 6.0 file since most sales will be for this quirky truck IMHO
