When I first got my truck I noticed the transmission groweled in first gear. I checked the oil and it was way low. I filled it up and noticed it leaked a small puddle every time I stopped.
I have been topping it off once in a while ever since. It is hard to tell where it is coming from. At first I thought it was from the front, being a bad seal and possible bearing on the mainshaft. Today when I filled it I thought it looked like it is coming from the back. It is a four wheel drive so the transfer case is connected to the rear of the transmission. I doesn't seem to me that there would even be a seal there. The transfer doesnt leak a drop and has ATF in it. Is anyone familiar with this problem?
I know that the connection between the t-case and the tranny on the c6 is open to the inside of the tranny. There is a gasket between the t-case and tranny. I had to buy gasket material becuase no one could find this gasket for me. I still think it was the sillycone I used on the second tranny that gummed it up and trashed it. I only use gaskets now. Might be that the t-19 is the same way and the oil is coming out there.
Thanks guys, this is what I was hoping. I did not see any obvious signs of loosness but I will get under there and check it out the next time I can get it over the pit.
