The big trouble I see so far with your income to expenses are your car costs. Get rid of the $300+ payment if possible and pay cash for a reasonable ride (Maybe $2-K to $3-K) that runs good. Get rid of the collision insurance then, and watch that one go down. Then you've got maybe $400 extra a month disposable income as a good cushion for other stuff. With your income, a car payment and high insurance is likely not a good idea. Some would argue it's a bad idea for ANY income....(Dave Ramsey).
Making the nickel scream with food costs is a good lesson too.......Probably the best lesson I learned when on my own in college (I started full time college at 25.....no parental help).
