hey my friend this question has been tossed back and forth many-many times
just wait for it -I think a stock one is better than a bad one-and clean or replace the pick up/screen/ tube e.t.c~~ most times that is why the pumps takes an early out

I believe in playing it safe. Just replace it with the stocker.

I did instal a HV pump in mine and I haven't experienced any negatives.

Just use the stock pump , theres no need for a HV pump unless you have a deep sump pan & are racing it .....Lew

i say go with the high volume dosent cost that more and it doesnt take any special modifications.... just a little oil pan persuasion

I say it all depends on the miles and how you drive the truck. It won't hurt to put in a HV pump but why spend the extra money if it's a.....say farm truck.

Go high volume, and high pressure..

If its a 302 use this one,Milodon 18800 - Milodon High Volume/High Pressure Oil Pumps - Overview - SummitRacing.com

That's the one I'm getting for mine.

The stock pump is what I would get. There is not any need for high volume, but definitely not high pressure. The higher pressure will just increase the potential for leaks.

High pressure/volume pump is only a 20-30% increase. So, if ur runnin 30psi it *might* jump to 39 psi.

From what I understand a high volume pump and high pressure pump are not exactly the same thing.

U are right, high pressure has to do with the pressure relief spring, and high volume does just that, flows more volume than stock. But the pump I posted a link to is both high pressure and high volume. Most pumps are either or, not both.
