Transmission tools??
I am going to try to tackle a transmission rebuild on an AOD 86 model. I know there are some special tools that make the job easier,however I am on limited funds and any creative solutions on how to make my own tools or just plain advice will work. This is the first transmission I will have done I need all the help I can get.

Hello,
I am in the same boat as for my 1986 AOD transmission. I am going to attempt to rebuild my AOD. How did yours go? Do you have any tips as far as rebuilding it? I will be pulling it in the yard and rebuilding it in a shed. I do not have a lift or anything. The truck will be on jack stands and I will be lowering it with a floor jack. Any tips you have for a first time transmission rebuild would be helpful.
I have read the post on here from Batman, a lot of the old timers say not to even attempt due to the difficulty of this project. I am the type who will not accept that I can't do something, I need to try for myself.
Did you have a manual to follow? I am looking into a Haynes manual for Ford Transmissions.
