Question

Plumbers, Check Valve Question

I have an 1-1/2" flapper type check valve in the discharge line from my basement sump pump. Lately the valve has been chattering when the pump shuts off. I've removed and cleaned out the valve but it didn't change anything. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Change it out....it's not worth the effort and they never seem to get better.

Same problem here last year. Cheapest and easiest way is to change it. Not a big project and solves the problem immediately!
