LIES!!! haha
let's see if anyone can figure out why this is not a "camper special" as it is stated.
also, that orange is NOT original!
There's one option that came standard only on the camper special, and this so called does not have this option
Bill will probably clear it up.
i would've mentioned the transmission but who says it was a 3 on the tree?
also, you could get a 100 CS
and all those extra goodies were on the custom cab camper special, there was also deluxe camper package which had all the standard CS, add the whole custom cab package, deluxe fresh air heater, two speed windshield wipers, left hand bed tool box, dual horns (so far it's a CC CS) padded visors, chrome front bumper, body side mouldings, and the right hand tool storage box!
and that's straight from Ford
It had a 352/4-speed, the gauges, door pocket "beer cooler" and the other goodies.
The truck pictured is a 3 speed.
1. Shift collar = 3 speed or automatic
2. Clutch pedal makes it a 3 speed.

BTW...F100 CS are a relative rarity...available in 1965 and 1966. ALL CS regardless of series had split rims...
The ones I have seen also have a side toolbox in the bed and a map pocket in the drivers door or both doors. Over the years though those things can be swapped out including the gauges. The 5 lug makes me think it is not a camper special. I have seen one that looked to have a factory grill guard on the front bumper. It was the only one I have ever seen and have no idea if it was original.
Most 1967/72 Camper Special's are F250's, but...
Ford also made some 1967/72 F100 and F350 Camper Specials.
The 1965/66 F100/250 Camper Special package included oil/amp gauges, 300 I-6 or 352, 4 Speed Manual or Cruise-O-Matic, but not the tool box or the door pockets.
The Styleside tool box was an option on all Standard & Custom Cab 1964/66 F100/250 2WD's and 1966 F100 4WD's, as were oil/amp guages, door pockets (also available at the parts counter).
Grille guards (there were two different styles) were not part of the Camper Special package.
door pockets,
352/COM,
bed tool box,
and extra
(sigh) gas tank on the drivers side. There is no such thing as factory installed auxillary fuel tank(s) on any of these trucks. If so equipped, was added after the truck was first sold.
The only fuel tank available thru 1966 was the In-Cab Tank. 1967 was the first year FoMoCo offered an optional 25 gallon auxillary tank, drivers side only.
And...the Economy or Deluxe Heaters were not included in any package, were an extra cost option on all these trucks.
So was the radio, tu-tone paint, side mouldings (F100/250's), chrome front bumper, all outside mirrors, two-speed wipers, seat belts and et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
And...since all the items (except two) that came with the Camper Special package were available on other models, what two parts are really Camper Special only?
These items define whether the truck is a real honest-to-goodness Camper Special...or not.
What are they?
