Alright, iv been thinking about this a little. I have a 69 or so Chevy D44 Flat top, that is a pass. side drop. I know it is possible to re-tube it, But do yall think it would be worth it? I really want a SAS, so to me i dont se any reason to not try it.
I obviously couldnt find either a ford D44 SAS or D60, considering im still using D44 TTB. But the Chevy one is in great shape. And im in no rush to get it done, and i defiantly have more time then money. I might make a good sumer project.
I just wanna get yall opinion, otherwise im gonna sell it, and get what i can.
It's not worth it at all. The work put into it verses $150 at junk yard? I am certain you'd have more money into that then buying a 78/79 ford d44. YOu cant tell me you cant find one. Sell it and have no more thoughts about it.
I am going to agree with above. I don't think in any way it will be worth it. Look around a little harder. They are a dime a dozen here. D60's are a little harder.

Ya, it sounds like its not worth it. Ill sell it and put the money towards a dana 60. Bigger is better. And its gonna get one at some point.
By the way, where are yall at? I'v only seen 1 late 70's ford D44 . And it was about a year ago and the whole truck was gone before i knew it. And i'v seen 1 super duty dually D60 in the junk yards. These are a little more rare around here.
