hey guys i finally uploaded a picture of my 79 bronco into my gallery. I put Dana 60 front axle sterling 10.25 rear axle (Lincoln locked) also stock f-250 rear springs with a shackle flip. the front springs were from a 78 f-250 with 4 inch suspension lift. we make brackets and gusseted them to the frame. all in all came out good. put a set of 38x15.5x16.5 ground hawgs on deep dish spoke wheels. Now just need to do some trimming and ill be good. also need to mount the front home made winch bumper to it. still gotta make rear bumper and tree sliders. also going to in future install 4 speed stick instead of automatic. the doors are going to go and going to install a set of home made 2 inch box tube doors in there place. bronco has a 400 under the hood with a C6 for now. Also i have a roll cage to install inside of the bronco. let me know what you guys think of my start. i will keep you guys posted as i work on it. also the bronco soon will be spray bombed flat black. now just wish i could figure out how to get my pic of bronco on here in my post instead of making you guys go to my gallery.
on the trails around here they are tight and the bronco will get some body damage to it. pretty much need as much body armor as can get on it. it will get painted its called wall-mart 97 cent flat black spray paint lol. reason i want a 4 speed is the automatics on the hard trails we have always seem to overheat and everyone always seem to burn the auto's up.
I guess I must be weirdo or something but I have always liked my granny 4 speeds for the trails and mud. Don't get me wrong I have all the faith in the world in a C6. If I was gonna build a tank it would have a 460/NP435/NP205 combo with D60 front and D70 rear... or better yet Rockwells. This is actually the set up I plan on running in my 77 highboy. Nice Bronco Jimmy!

I'm building this truck on Rocks and 53's using a '79 F250 as a base. Even though I've gathered up everything I need to swap in the NP435, I haven't decided on the trans yet. I'm leaning more towards a C6 nowadays for the easy of operation, rock crawling with a clutch sux and I'll eventually start to build the 460 (weight+high hp/torque=glazed clutch) unless I start dropping serious $ at it. The crawl ratio with a 4 speed would be sick though.
As for the OP, a trans cooler would solve the issue but use the transmission you like best, I like shifting too. Several advantages to running a manual also..
