Tire Understanding

I want to get a good full understanding on what tires will stuff up a 95 (And trucks like it) F150. Like whats the biggest you can put under them with stock suspension (Or stock like) and then could you also tell me waht you need to do to put bigger ones under. Cause my dream is 35's under my F150. But 33 would do well to. I just want to do a little feild hoppin in the truck, not really into getting far back in the woods to get stuck. So thanks guys, just want to learn so I can pass the info off.

If you look under my Senior User Identification is says 1995 F150, I own a 1995 F150 4X4 Eddie Bauer, along with my Powerstroke. Secondly yes I searched, I cant seem to get the right words to find anything. I am sorry for the redundant question, but I want to understand this better.

Don't be sorry dude. FTE is here for your purpose.

On a stock F-150, I wouldn't go any bigger than 32's. I've seen 33's and I think they may rub when turning and definately hit things when the suspension is fully travelling.

I run 31 x 10.50 on my F-150 and I think they look good, handle the loads well and don't eat up too much gas.

u can fit 33x12.5r15's on 15x10's with like 3.75" to 4" of back spacing and it will not touch anything while sitting still and turning the wheels from lock to lock....

now thats not saying u wont be eating fenders when the suspension is cycling tho....

i know this for a fact on a 87-91 <---- mine is a 88 2wd and i have 33x12.5's on 15x10's and i have put them on the truck the only reason they arent on there now is because i dont have a matching set of tires.... hope that info helps a little

If your truck is 2wd just get a set of 31 10.50 15 and leave it at that. If its 4wd the go with 32 11.50 15. Don't go with 33s or bigger unless you want to lift and regear etc.

You guys are as smart as some boxs of rocks. I stated in a PREVIOUS post in the thread that I am talking about my 4WD F150! NOT THE TRUCK IN MY SIG WHICH IS 2WD! And thank you guys who awnsered who did not say 'If its a 2WD' So 31's are a okay size. Well what would I need to do so put like 33 or maybe 35's under? Yes I am talking lift, tell we what I need to know. But thanks skyfox10 those links somewhat helped. I appreciate it. Also I want to use my stock rims (I think they look good) So thanks guys.

I'm sorry, but I didn't and still don't see where you said it was a 4wd.

If you want to run 35 12.50 then go with a 6 inch lift and for 33 12.50 go with a 4 inch lift.

With either setup you will want to regear to at least 4.10 gears or maybe 4.56 depending on the drivetrain in the truck.

Go and read the 4th post in this thread which I posted, and you will see it says F150 Eddie Bauer 4x4, and thank you, thats exactly what I wanted to know.

On my '96 I've got 285/75r16 bfgs on 16x10 cepek wheels. The only lift I have in the front is a set of pro-comp leveling coils, 2.5" lift I think. Had to trim a little off the bottom corner of the bumper and slightly adjust the brake lines but other than that they don't rub at all on the radius arms or on the fenders. I've crossed it up in some ditches pretty hard at full turn and if they were going to rub they would have. I can take some pics if you want, the tires are tucked up in the fenders pretty nice and unless its parked next to a stock one you can barely tell I trimmed the bumper. If you don't want to trim the bumper you could always space it out a bit, just thinking it would be a much cheaper route than going with a full 4 inch lift....

So all you have in the area of suspension lift is Pro-Comp leveling springs? I assume Summit Racing carrys them (They are close and are here quick). I need to put new shocks up front so when I do I will get a set and put them on then.
