Where to purchase????
Hey there I've got an 86 250xlt on the drive and I'm wanting to do a rebuild on the motor and of course up the bhp. Where can I buy the performance cam and some upgraded head studs + head gaskets I'm in the UK so don't really want to send a core over. I've tried mike jones but literally been waiting on a response for months and can't seem to get through to R&D????
Any help and possibly a working email to someone that is willing to supply these parts would be great.
P.s the engine is the stock 6.9
Regards Luke

Typ4/Russ is often a bit busy, but he came through for me, and now I've got a shiny torque cam for my engine, as soon as I can take it apart to drop it in there.
I plan to run it with a turbo -- it should make slightly less peak HP, but make better low-end torque and power, something that I find important(it drops the non-turbo peak torque from 1600 to 1400RPM).

That is about the power level I am building also. You will need to get in touch with Justin at R&D for the parts to make it happen. You are going to want a boost friendly cam such as the stage 1 or J2 cam. Stage 1is a great compromise between low end torque and high end power and has excellent driveability. The J2 is soft on the bottom end but makes fantastic top end power. Justin is also working on a stage 2 that will be similar to NMB2's J2. I bought a J2 before the stage 1 was available, and it is just sitting in my closet if you are interested in that particular grind. I wanted a stronger bottom end so I went with the stage 1. Be patient and get a hold of Justin. He will be able to tell you more about his new stage 2 that will be going into his build, and discuss your needs as far as a cam, IP, stud options etc., and I am sure he can work something out with you as far as a core.

J2
Well I would love to be patient but my trucks engine is out due to some other issues so I'm wanting to tackle two birds with one stone and get her back together asap what sort of money were you thinking for the one you have laying around? Will it work with my standard valve train/rockers etc?

Visitor message
You don't have private message function available yet but I left you a visitor message. Your stock valve train is fine with any of these cam grinds, but upgrading to Comp Cam 910 valve springs is highly recommended. They are Powerstroke springs and provide a little better seat pressure.
