I have had a couple posts on here about my 92 F150,5.0l. I was losing all fuel pressure at the rail as soon as the pump disengaged,,so I replaced the fpr,all eight injectors and still no pressure, then I replaced both fuel pumps.....finally,I now have fuel pressure at the rail.....and it solved my inconsistent starting troubles, but unfortunately it did not solve my drivability issues.sometimes the truck will idle to high in gear, and idle erratic in park, with a strong fuel odor, and when driving it seems that when you let off the gas,and then get back into it it shutters, and sorta bogs down, then it will finally come out of it..no check engine light, and heres a list of replaced parts, egr, air bypass valve, tps, engine coolant temp sensor,fpr,8 injectors, and both fuel pumps, and a fuel filter, dist cap and button...Anyone with any idea? please help........and also i have checked for vacuum leaks...
Have you checked for codes even though you don't have a CEL? Given the driveability issues, I would tend to look for a dead spot in the throttle position sensor (TPS) or the coolant temperature sensor (ECT) failing and causing the ECU to increase the fuel ratio. Either of those can fail within the accpetable range for testing, and not throw a code. It could even be an O2 sensor reading lean and increasing the enriching the fuel ratio. I would get a voltmeter and run diagnostics on all those. For the TPS, run the range of motion and look for dead spots. For the ECT, look for a reading stuck in one place. For the O2 sensor, first check for a cracked exhaust manifiold before the sensor (happens all the time on these trucks). If no cracks, check to see the sensor is switching between lean and rich. You can find some specifics on the tests for each sensor here. Just click on the link for the specific sensor.
Before i got that i was counting lights using this----->Actron CP9015 OBD I Code Reader- Ford and it felt like i was going through the ignition sequence for lift off on a space shuttle.
