i need to throw in a new set of shocks, dont want to spend more than 50ish a shock, just wondering what brands everyone else has had good luck with, thanks
I like the Rancho RSX. I have them on my truck right now. They are noticably better than the regular RS5000. You can't really go wrong with Bilstein. Another less expensive option is Monroe Gas Magnum, which is a good shock. We have used them before and they work well.
i have monroe-matic gas shocks on my truck now. they were like 30 at autozone and my truck rides great, very noticable difference over the KYBs i had on there before (and cheaper) monroe makes good shocks
I have KYB's on the 96 for 9 years thay did great, untill i did the Lightning drop now the front makes noise, Gonna upgrade it to Bilstein as soon as i get $$$.
just put a set of those monroe's on my truck! only ran about 5 miles or so but it was a huge improvement. i measured before and after and i got 1 1/2" lift all the way around.
I like the Monroe gas magnum. We had them on our 85 years ago. Any gas charged shock will potentially raise the vehicle, but more like .5 inches. I don't really see how it raised the truck 1.5 inches. Did you get gas magnum or sensatrac?
