I have a 97 f250 with an edge evolution. Last week it died while exiting the highway, and wouldn't restart.
I replaced the cam position sensor a couple of weeks ago trying to solve a rough idle problem. I went back to stock setting on programmer.
I replaced high pressure pump and it ran great for a couple of days. Then it dies on the road at 60 mph again. Found a shorted wire at the sensor on the high pressure pump, fixed it, truck ran for a day.Now it will start and run for about 15 minutes, then die. Let it set for a few hours and it will do the same again.Acts like its running out of fuel, but its got plenty of fuel in the filter resivour(checked fuel pump) replaced PCM no changes, and yes I even checked the oil level! Im really frusterated and this is my work truck ,its killing me
wouldent show any codes
Finnally broke down and took it into a shop i was told is reputable.
they found the problem,IPR valve in HPOP is dumping pressure for some reason either bad "O" rings or faulty valve.hopefully I'll have my truck back by Monday.thanks all for your input

OK for month's I've Been trying to trace a problem similar but not exactly like yours, the truck just wouldn't start cold even on a 90 degree day but I could plug it in and it starts every time, checked all the usual Glo plugs cycler HPOP leakdown everythings OK except the truck Idles rough and it just doesn't seem to have the HP it should and it won't start cold.I've also recently noticed it occasionally stumbling when I get to a stop sign, but it has always kept running. since the truck needs a 1000# higher pressure to start cold than it does hot I've been leaning toward a an IPR problem since this problem came on gradually I'm more suspicious of the O-rings than the reg itself, but it's the same amount of work to change the O-rings as the entire unit so I think i'd change the whole thing.
It would also maybe figure to put a guage on the hig pressure oil rails to see what they're actually doing before spending the $250 ford wants for this part, (intl's part is only $50 less but they don't seem to know anything about those O-rings) that kinda scares me as I hate to get things apart and find out I have the wrong part or not all of them.
Does anyone here know where to get the proper test fittings to do this
