made in china

Most of the flags sold in the US are made in china. I found some at Home Depot that were made in the US and grabbed a bunch of them. I was in Montana 2 yrs ago and went to a huge Western Clothing store. I was sure I could find some good ole Made in USA clothes. There was the George Straight collection, guess what, made in Indonesia. There was a large cowboy boot selection, most made in china or mexico. Nothing in the place was made here. Up in Canada I found plenty of stuff that was made in Canada. Like Chevy Silverado's. I think Canada got a lot of that GM bailout money. At least my corvette was made in Kentucky (Bowling Green). I have visited there and taken the plant tour several times. Oh well, I am going to fly my American flag and drive my American car and truck and wear my made in El Salvador shirt. Huh?

The first thing I do when I purchase anything is look were it's made. If it's China and I buy it there is one of three reasons.
1. I need it bad and now
2. Anything but made in china is totally cost prohibitive.(it would have to be a big amount)
3. No one else makes what I need or I don't have the time to make what I need.
I have walked out of many a store with money in my wallet that I WAS going to spend on something but it's place of origin prevented that purchase.

NOT TO HIJACK THIS THREAD...

Sorry, but you guys crack me up so much.
I am probably younger than most of you.
But, I can remember back far enough to compare then and now.

All I hear is buy US this or buy US that.
Thats all fine and dandy, but you're not necessarily buying American.
Case in point...dont jump my @$$ for this.
Just because you buy an American vehicle, doesnt make it American.
The parts are not always made here and the assembly is not here either.
So, who or what are we really supporting when we buy American???
We buy American so that all our companies can farm out our jobs to
other countries?
We buy American so that we can support some of the worst engineered
and built products in the world?
We buy American so that we can empty our wallets for the same product
that we can buy elsewhere that is cheaper and more reliable.

We used to be a proud country that actually made decent products
that could compete in the world.
Now were just a proud country that has no interest in anything except
its bottom line, no matter if its products actually work or not.

The reason you don't make any parts for China is because they can make the same quality part for less. Why would they buy our high priced stuff?

Same quality, ah, nope. They ship a die over that they make and the first thing you do is rebuild it so it will run, the same quality and cheaper, that's a misnomer, were not talking about Japan here, and how they protectionize their system, I think we should allow the same amount of stuff that they allow. Dollar for dollar the same for imports or exports, see how they would like that. BTW, good morning all.

I work for Ford Motor Co at the Mustang plant in Flat Rock, Mi and all super duty trucks are built at the Kentucky Truck Plant outside Louisville, Ky. If you go to Blueovalnews.com and look for the employees forum someone on there might be able to help you or here is the link for the UAW Local 862 website. Chairman Eskridge Page
Hope this helps, I have a 2004 F350 and I love it!!!!!!

I remember reading some place that all Ford trucks to be sold in the US were built in the US. Those that were built somewhere else were destined to be sold somewhere else.

There are exceptions though, I recall a couple members here complaining that theirs SD's was built in Mexico and folks were wondering how they ended up in the US. If memory serves they were both out on the west coast. Maybe they got smuggled in from Mexico?
