I broke my passenger side front axle shaft where the splines enter the manual lock hubs. The truck is a '99 f250 with the 7.3. I went to the ford dealer and they want to sell the inner and outer unit with the universal only. Does any distributor sell only the outer shaft? The ford part for the outer shaft only is 4c32220ba but apparently isn't available.
This happened yesterday while plowing snow. To top it off the barn collapsed on my wife's '03 and her horse trailer.
Do a search for the Dana Spicer distributor in your area. I have bought the outer stub shaft only for a Dana44 axle in my 86 Ford some years ago from the Dana distributor. Company's like Randy's Ring and Pinion, Bronco Graveyard may also carry this...
I ended up getting "THE SHAFT" from the local stealer for $550.00 to get the truck back together in the least amount of time. Turns out the bearing in the hub was shot as well. We should get the truck together today.
