I have finally found the casting numbers for the block and heads of my 75 f-100 4X4. The manifold and carb are off a 66 high performance motor and as a result I am not sure what motor I have. I am getting ready to measure the stroke of the motor as several others have said I need to do to help identify it. But finding the casting numbers on the block and heads after 3 cans of engine bright and being soaked in water makes me feel like I have discovered King Tuts tomb.
Can somebody PLEASE help me with these numbers. The numbers for the heads are D2TEAA, and the number for the block is 2D22. What does this cryptic code stand for??? Please help somebody if you can.
My next step is post pictures of the awesome truck I have always wanted and measure the stroke as bullitt and many others have said. Thanks in advance for all the help.
Ford man all my 42 years of life.
The heads are just regular 72+ truck heads. Could either be 360 or 390. So.......the motor is most likely the same. The manifold and carb were probably swapped. Sorry to disappoint, but I highly doubt your engine is a 66 hi-performance.
D = 197X
2 = 1972
T = Light-duty and Medium-duty truck (1966-82), Bronco (1966-82, except 1970-73), Light-duty truck and Bronco I (1983-up)
E = Engine part
Don't know what the AA means.
But basically your heads are off of a 1972 light or medium duty truck
Thank all of you very much. At least I know it is not the original motor as the truck is a 1975. The intake manifold says C6AE so I know its off a 66. The 2D22 date code also has a M underneath it on the block. What does that mean if anything at all?
