Ok Guys and gals, I need help. I have a Penda bug shield that was on my expy when I purchased it. I just noticed that the whole shield has very noticable foggy spots. Is there anything I cant put on it to get rid of these spots without ruining the finish? I contacted Penda and they stopped making bug shield a couple of years ago and didnt offer any suggestions.
i'm not familiar with that brand but if its anything like LUND and its that smoke colored plastic, you can try using some MOTHERS plastic polish on it. Good Luck.
Thanks Chris, I'll give that a shot, I cant wait to see your expy on Dubs because I also have a Black 98 expy and would someday like to do the same....
Group,
I have a '98 black Expy, but it's a bear to keep clean and shiny!
I have waxed it about every 2 weeks, but it never looks clean the next day. How do you guys keep your black Expy's clean and shiny? Even my paint job looks a bit dull at times, any suggetions on how to make it shine again??? I hate water spots...
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Jun-02 AT 00:45 AM (EST)]This might be overkill for most folks but, i use a 3 part cleaning system from Meguires. After you wash, step 1 is a paint cleaner, step 2 is a wax, and 3 is the polish. Also during the week till the next washing, I keep a bottle of Meguires "quik detailer" on hand for any cleaning i need to do from daily road grime. It also works well on glass as long as the glass is cool and not hot, but i know you know that already.
Good Luck.
Btw guys, my expy is actually burgandy. It looks black cuz i used a cheap camera for this pic. But I still use this cleaning practice on this color plus my recently sold black eclipse.
Chris, I also use Mequiars products but I saw that Superman Expy on this board that was so shiny it looked wet!!! I was told to go to zainobros.com and chech out their products. I havent purchased them yet but the product sounds pretty amazing.
Tim, try using Scratch X by Mequiars before you wax. It's an extra step but it really helps with the shine...
