I have a 99 Eb expedition. I want to put a lift kit on it but I'm not sure if I have the LLS. I know it has the air ride. I had a different 99 Eb expedition that i could hear the compressor kick in. on my new one I can't hear anything. Is a body lift bad for the truck and does it make it look ugly. I want to do a 3 inch body lift and a 4 inch suspension lift. Any help on determing the suspension would be appreciated. Thanks
Matt, is yours a 4x4? I have a 4x2 EB with LLS in the rear and adjustable pedals. I just installed a Fabtech 3.5" spindle lift kit and it looks great.(http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/) I did the work myself and save about $800 it was extremely easy. I wanted to keep the original suspension as much as possible. As far as body lifts I don't know much about them but, I was told I could not install one on the Expy's with adjustable pedals. Regarding your LLS, if you go to the back of your vehicle and look at the top of the differential next to the wheels you will see a large black rubber below (ballon looking) item on each side, these are your airbags. If you have a 4x4 with four point air suspension, I believe you would see simular items on all four suspension points. I hope this helps......If you need some photos send me a private message with your email address and I'll send you some pics to help you out. Good luck......
Mine is a 4x4. I looked at the rear springs today and I didn't see anything that would resemble an air bag. Looks like plain old springs. Thanks for the info by the way.
