I agree that they do look a bit more upscale in the white. Funny thing is that we saw a lot of the black ones listed for sale with the options we wanted. But I thought it looked like we would be Secret Service agents if we drove that. On my commute to my old office, I would drive a route frequented by many a black Suburban or Escalade with Govt tags with agents sitting sideways with guns at the ready. It was kind of humourous. But comes with the territory when driving around DC and the Pentagon.

October 2008 someone rear ended me and their insurance comany gave me a 2009 "Jack Bauer" Black Expedition EL. It was really nice, comfy, and turned some heads everywhere I went.
Just to see what would happen, I once purposely dressed in all black with the trademark Secret Service type sunglasses on. I stopped at Lowe's, got out looked around, and some people actually looked thinking someone important was coming out.

Not to worry, by the time you are ready for new tires she'll be used to it. Also, if you let her know how much a set of new wheels cost she would probably rather have a nice 3 day vacation instead.
