think this is the problem anyway, been startin hard in the mornin buncha white smoke blows out at start up, its fuel, think im about to tear into the top and go ahead and upgrade, whats the best hpop? i hear people usin the 17 degree off the newer strokes, i dont really know what size i need, i was thinkin 160's? im not lookin to pull sleds or anything, i just want enough to make a mean truck, capable of snatchin people out of holes and roll some decent coal, maybe the 400-500 hp range. i dont know exactly how to go about doin this or what the best brands are for everything. looked at the stealth pumps too. anybody got an input? also figure ill put some new studs in too. what abotu the fuel system? i read in 8 lug about CPR fuel system, any difference in FASS or some other one i dont know about?
Rosewood injectors definitely! Probably stage II's if your lookin for those kind of horsepower numbers. You should look into an upgraded HPOP and probably upgrade that fuel system to an electric fuel system. There are some good write ups on here about upgrading to the SD fuel system.
Well if you want to be in the mid 400's then your going to be looking at 160/80's or even 180/80's deffinetly from Jim, and adrenaline HPOP from dieselsite, and I would go with either the CPR; Beans; or you can do DIY for cheaper but its more work, and then your going to need more air and your probably lookin at an H2E or modded H2E from Beans or WOP or you could use a QSSB from WOP. For studs I would go with either ARP or H11's and you can get those from pretty much any of the big shops. I think that was all you asked about, if not just post up some more questions. I just want to add in that my vote for injectors goes 110% with Jim, deffinetly the greatest guy that I've dealt with in a long while. As for size I would talk to him about maybe even some 238/80 Hybrids so that you ahve some room to grow in the future if the want arrises and they are better on oil. But that would be something that you would want to talk over with him cuz I'm no expert.
Dude, can I shake your money tree too? for all the stuff your mentioning, if you do all of that your lookin at around $15k or more... tranny 4k - Injectors 1.5k - HPOP 1.6k - Head Studs $300 (Labor 2k) - Head gaskets - FASS like 1.2k i think-.... just a rough estimate, dont feel like lookin it all up... Wish I had your job, good luck with all this though! Sounds like a fun project. Puttin it all in yourself?
trans 4k, sticks 1k, HPOP 500, studs 400 (no labor wrench on my own truck), gaskets 100ish, CPR fuel 1100(500 for DIY), turbo 3k in kit for could be made for less. So its quite a bit of money but once your to this point in his build why cut corners...

You gotta pay to play my friend. As far as HPOP, lookin at the Adrenaline one at dieselsite lookin at 600 bucks, and you could do a fuel system for less than a grand doing it yourself. As far as injectors, definitely go to Jim and I think Richard is right, 238's would be pretty sweet.

Yep, that is the truth... and like fox said, once you start buildin a truck, cant cut corner's, im no goin to go the cheap route with my injectors, decided to say **** it and get good new one's
good grief, 238's? lol i didnt think id need to go that big ha, but hey whatever, might as well do something ridiculous lol. yes your right its alotta dough to be droppin, bout t be workin on the interior too. but i have an excuse lol im single, and i work offshore ha, no major bills, truck was paid cash for and i bought with intentions of doin this right here. i wanted a obs with all they goodies of the nbs its comin along great, and you guys have been a big help. thanks for the input, i'll give this rosewood fella a call today.
oh yeah one mroe thing, guy at the shop yesterday was talkin about these folks that rebuild turbos down the street, he said the can build mine (with a compressor wheel) to support what i was talkin about doin, for about 1500 bucks, do you think it would be better to get a new turbo

Well, for the 400-500 horses you were talking about, i think stage ones are good for like 300+ with supporting mods, stages 2's are good for around 400 with supporting mods and then with the 238 hybrids, you will be getting mid to higher 400s with supporting mods.
