gfw i am not sure that is correct. the 300-6 was a very rare option in the 78-9 broncos.
Now in 80+ the 300-6 equipped broncos tended to have a 3.08 gears since they where backed by a manual 4 speed or C6. 4.10's tend to be a special request and are rare in broncos in general.

the 300-6 got the higher ratio also because of cruising rpms. that motor doesnt like running at 2500rpms + for very long. and since it produces good amount of torque off idle the 3.08 worked.

That's why I should stay off the big Bronco forum. Just not familiar enough with them vs same year pickups. I thought a lot of the 73-79 era F-150's with the 300 and 4 speed had the 4:10 gears. Back to the EB's where I belong. I may be looking for the wrong thing too. I've hunting for a 79 stepside w/ 4-speed and 4:10's. Thanks for straightning me out.

that motor was for sure in the trucks. i know because i had a 73 with 300-6 and 4speed with 4.10s. i loved the combo for sure.

a 79 stepside i think would be rare for sure. that combo wouldnt but you more then likely would find a 351m under the hood.

Put a fin on the back of the bronco and no exhaust will come in I have one on my 79 and exhaust runs out the back . If you weld the front up you will have trouble turning .

I know even when my exhuast was behind the rear tire i still got a ton of fumes with the window down. i know its illegal in PA but i still put it infront of the tire, louder and no fumes. also my 90 bronco has 3.08 and a 300 which i hate but will probably like when i get my 351w in with the 4 speed. a Lincoln 7018 locker (welded spiders) up front shouldnt hurt as long as you keep the hubs locked out going down the road but i wouldn't do the rear, one tire has to turn faster around turns.

My exhaust exits just behind the passenger door, and angles down some like this:

If I drive with the rear window down, I get no exhaust inside. I could easily tell if it was getting inside, because the black smoke pours out when I get on the throttle hard. Another thing I noticed is that there's no black soot residue on the rear tire/wheel, so the exhaust must not be hitting there either.

Thanks, it's just satin engine enamel, since the diesel exhaust doesn't get all that hot, it holds up well.

American thunder i assume you dont wheel that bronco much as the location for that exhaust would get damaged often being in the front of the rear tire

well guys if he dont roll the back window down he wont get any fumes. I know my Bronco is notorious for burnin up those rear motors. So I havent had it down for goin on 5 years. I have had my exhaust ran straight out the back for like 7 years now. I dont know though. I may throw some 45s on there and throw it out to the side by the ends of the bumper.

With the exhaust properly routed, it won't come in the back window (even though my users manual says to never drive with it down.) However, straight out the back can be deadly, even with the window up.
