I have a oil leak coming from the front of my motor at the gasket between the hpop and the plate it mounts on. the local mechanic said i can replace it but it will make my pump start just puking out oil.. is he just trying to sell me a pump or is it true???
If you've verified that gasket is the culprit, you can replace it and be on your way.
You'll have to remove the HPOP, which isn't hard. Replacing that gasket and seating it properly can be a bit tricky, as some folks have ruined new gaskets trying to bolt it up.
Go to this site: Terminator Engineering
Click on the tab at the top that says "Tech"
Click on the link that says "Terminator install photos".
Lots of pics of how to draw out the oil, remove the HPOP, etc. That should help you replace that gasket. You should be able to do it without removing the intake spider, since the terminator pumps are dual pumps, and your stock unit is a single.
Hopefully this helps. If you have more questions, feel free to ask.
If you're going to tackle this on your own (and it's really not that hard), there are a bunch of O-rings and a few Parker sleeves that you'll want to replace while you're there. Check out Guzzle's website: Replacement O-rings for Ford Diesel Engines
im gonna takle it myself and while im there im gonna repace every oring and seal that possibly could be cause im tired of the darn thing leaking and dont wanna take it apart again
