trans oil
i am about to change the trans oil on my f250 got the new filter/gasket but they only had 11 quarts of castrol mercon v and as of today no one out here in the great north has any, so my? is would it be ok to use walmart mercon v and mix it with castrol

First off, I would say no problem mixing brands. The oil manufacturer either meets the Mercon V spec or they don't. But I'm not an expert so I'm happy to bump you ttt for a better answer.
My own question is who the hell sells it in bulk? Pep Boys only carries 6 quarts on the shelf (2 different brands), VatoZone has none at the moment, nobody seems to have it in bulk. Who sells gallons or has a good quart price? Cheapest I've seen so far is Pep Boys @ $4.50/qt. (I'm in West Los Angeles, btw.) When did Merc V become unobtanium?

I'm up here in carson city nv.I have only found one auto parts store within 40 miles that had any at all and that was auto zone and they only had 11 qts the rest ie napa/kragen/car quest nada what is with castrol reps? I have bought castrol for years i'm not happy with there lack of business in this area
