Just wondering if they rub on the springs when you turn the wheel lock to lock.
I have 265's now and considering the bigger ones. 265 are listed at 31.7" and the 285 size at 32.8" Thanks, Bill
you won't have any problems with 285's.... it's when you go to 315's you get some rubbing problems ! Go for the 285's ! you'll like the way they look and they won't suck out to much power or fuel milage ! They're the best size tire for these trucks if you ask me !
Ditto Ditto, no rubbing issues, go for it. One thing, brand new tires, 285's and if you have the factory Ford mud flaps, they might just hit a little full lock until the tires wear but nothing to be concerned about, no damage.
Well, just keep in mind that different tire brands are slighty different in size. Just because they are both 285/75/16 doesn't guarantee exact sizing. My 285s are Nitto Duragrapplers which are GREAT tires for towing heavy or hauling heavy loads, but they do rub at full lock in a right-hand turn on the passenger side front leaf spring. Not really an issue, but you asked if they do and I'm telling you hat some do. FWIW, my previous 285 bridgestone mt's did not rub.

how are the 285's for towing? How much does it change gearing?
I didn't notice much difference towing with the 285's from 265's. Now the 315's made a huge difference, and it wasn't good. That is why I went back to the 285's.

I have 265's right now and tow a TT till we get a heavier 5er. Just didn't want to loose any hill pulling grunt.
