In ran BFG's in the 285 and had no rubbing issues. Towed an 8k trailer with no problems. I switched to 265's for the heavier load rating. The 285's were not rated for towing the weight I tow. From what I have found a lot of brands have a lower rating for weight as you get bigger, something to consider.

Toyo Open Country M/T's have a very good weight rating ! Even in the 315's they are still a "E" rating I believe !

The tires I'm looking at are at Sam's club, they are Dunlap rover M/T maxx traction, LT285/75R16 126E, rated at 3750 lbs single.

What type of tread do the M/t's have. I run the BFG A/T's. Mud and snow rated but not real aggressive. I use my truck as a daily driver so don't want a primarily off road tire. I would like to go back to 285's though. So if I can find an A/T tire "E" rated in the 285's I would go that route.

The toyo open country M/T's are pretty aggressive for pattern ! They also make a open country A/T. not sure on the a/t's ratings. do a google search on the toyo open country and you will get all the info you would ever need !

Mine work great but rub a little in situations where the suspension is heavily articulated and wheels are turned hard. This happens .0001 of the time.

285 Maxxis Buckshot Mudders. No issue with rubbing. The only possible issue is load range D. Won't do that again purely for the safety issue. Didn't know that our trucks needed load range E, especially if towing. The tires that were on it when I purchased were load range D, so that's what I purchased. I tow my 5th wheel with jet skis behind that, gooseneck flatbed with 12 round bales, and an occasional load of cattle. So I'll be looking for E's the next go around.

I just put the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on, size 285/75/16 and have no issue at all with rubbing. I use my truck for a daily driver as well and wanted an aggressive tread but handled like a highway tire and these fit the bill for me. They are E rated and are right in between the A/T's and M/T's.

Those look nice on your rig. What do they run price wise, what kind of miles do you get on a set.

Terry,
I paid $1056 total, including taxes. I searched around and this was the best i could find. I did have to wait 2 weeks for them since these seem to be real popular and hard to get, especially in the 285 size.

As for tread wear, it is still to early to tell since these have only been out since June or July of 2009. I only have a few hundred miles on mine so far. I am expecting to get over 50K based on the fact that they are not as soft as the M/T's and they seem to get about 30-40K.
