I wanted to get a second set of winter only wheels for my F250 and I have a chance to pick up some E250 wheels at a very good price. However, I've searched just about everywhere and can't find bolt pattern information for the van wheels.
What I need to know is whether an 02 E250 2wd wheel will fit an 01 F250 4wd?
Also, anyone know where I can find info on the van wheels?
I am fairly certain that the E-series vans use 7 lugs where the superduties use 8 lugs.... in other words they won't work.
(i know this because i bought a set of rims from a guy who had origionally purchased them for his E-250 van before discovering they wouldn't fit. He was selling them real cheap...)
FYI, The E-series E350 1-ton has 8-lugs, but the bolt pattern different. It is same as the 98 and older F250/F350. For some reason, Ford decided to change the bolt pattern for 99-up SDs.
So it sounds like NO E-series wheels will fit the SD series.

He's right. 8 on 6.5" for vans and 8 on 170mm for Super Duties.
Thanks guys for your help. I wonder why I couldn't find any info on the van bolt patterns??? Oh well, doesn't matter since I have the info I need. Thanks again.

It's one of those "you should know" things, I bet
The e-series wheels are the same as the 8-lug pattern used for decades. There were a bunch of fleets (so I heard) that complained when the F-series went to the 8x170mm hug-centric wheels. Maybe Ford figured it would be better to leave the E-series alone, given the HUGE amount of E-series vans out there, especially U-haul and the like.
I don't see so many F-series trucks used by rental or commercial fleets. Utility companies do use F-series 450/550 and such though, but for the lighter-duty (weight) market, I see a huge amount of E-series vans used.
For the 4WD F-series though, I don't think they could have really done much with the offset required for the 4WD knuckles, and the fact that they went to 17, 18 and 20" wheels in later years, so overall I think the F-series 8x170mm was probably a good idea. No chance of mixing and matching and causing the fleets liability headaches
