So I bought a VSS from Ford and the voltage is better but it is still giving me a code 452. Now it is my understanding that it could also be the gauge cluster (PSOM) is that correct? Anybody know or have a pin out for the cluster to check what the signal is ? Where does the signal get buffered at the PCM or the cluster? All I have to work with is a crappy haynes manual which is really short on information.

Just found a great post by Subford on the PSOM and reset procedures so I will try that found some other interesting data about solder joints on the PSOM board so I might just take it out and touch up the joints to see if that works. Lots of trouble with these things it looks like so I will post back with any results if anybody is interested.
