My 360 finally gave up on me this weekend and I dont have the money to rebuild it right now. I can get a 302 and a C-4 in good shape for free, all I need to do is pull it. will this bolt in to my 72 F-100 with new motor mounts only. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
You will have to not only get the 302 motor mounts for your application, you will need to also get SMALL BLOCK motor mount supports, from a ' 67- ' 72 truck, and the rest will be minor, you will probably have to get a different driveshaft or have yours altered to fit, GOOD LUCK
I just swapped motors on a 74 2WD shortbed. It had 302/C-4 and I replaced it with a 390/C-6. I had to replace the perches but the driveshaft fit perfectly as well as the tranny mount. A pleasant surprise. The 302 had headers and someone butchered the radius to radius crossmember in order to get them to clear. But when I put a new crossmember back I found that the 390's headers cleared it.
i replaced 360 c6 with a 351w and c6 in a 69 2wd swb and it bolted right in same drive line same towers used the 351 moter mounts. it had 2 1/4 exa so got lucky cut pipe and fit it to the small block pipes . i think it sat a littil higher in the engin compartment.
