Double Down Transfer Case

Hey there just had some questions about making a transfer case for my wheeling truck? what two trans cases do i need to do so? and i have a question about how it works. i can still drive at highway speeds correct? im not stuck in my low gears? thanks alot maybe someone has some pictures? thanks

What makes you want a doubler?

A 203 range box and a 205 transfer case. The kit is expensive to put them together though.

but yes, you can drive normally with a 1:1 final drive ratio even with a doubler.

Just about $500 for a doubler kit for a Ford. Got mine from Jeds Machine.

jeds machine is who I'm looking at going with too. How do you like yours?

Love it, I have the resplined shaft and I also got it in the unwelded version. That way its really easy to clock it.

I just read your other post, and I don't see any use for you to have a doubler. But 203/205 would be the t-cases you want.

^^^ agreed.

A mud truck really has no business with a doubler with 44s or less. Good gears, good motor and decent tires will get you through most anything. Wheelspeed is the key and thats usually impossible with super low gears/doubler.

I dont know, sometimes its nice to pop it into "low,low" and shift through the gears.. although I have a little motor.. with both axles locked, sometimes in just low range I cant get then 44s so spin quick enough, so slappin it into low low and slam gears is the way I hav to do it sometimes...

^^^ I guess its a toss up.

sometimes when the needle is burried on 85mph I still need a little more wheelspeed

What's a speedo? Lol I don't have one in my wheeler, just a Tach, and all the other important guages.

My motor is little, so when I'm wheelin I'm usually in low range, and when, I need it, drop it in low, low.

I like normal low range with my new motor, I think I'd need a HANS device if I had a doubler and mashed it
