door panels
I have a '77 F-250 XLT Camper Special Super Cab! I need a detailed description of the magic motion it takes to get the door panels off. This is the high end package deal with the fabric seat and plush carpet. So, there aren't any exposed screws. Makes me miss my "other" truck just a little. Thank you
in advance for your help.

Taking door panels off can be a real pain if you dont have the right tool. There are small clips that hold the panel on, 8 to be exact. They are located at the corners of the panels and halfway inbetween the ones in the corner. To get the clips loose you should have a tool that is forked on the end and will allow you to get right behind the clip. You can get this tool from JC whitney it only costs 10 or 15 dollars. Thats alot better than paying 150-200 for new doorpanels if you break the little clip holders. Hope this helps.

There are 2 screws in the finger cup recess on the arm rest. Then there is one screw holding the door latch on, pull the latch as if to open the door & you'll see it. Then CAREFULLY release the clips all around the edge of the door panel. These are strong metal clips & it is very easy to crack the door panel when trying to remove it. If you get the panel off intact, you may want to throw the clips away and use velcro around the edges instead.

I did get as far as getting the cup and the door handle off. That's when I broke a clip and decided to seek more help. I have my JC Whitney catalog on order. So I will have to pretend I have the V shaped tool. When I slide it behind the door panel what direction should I push to release the clips. Up, down, vertically forward? This has turned into quite an ordeal just to change a dead speaker!
