I have a rebuilt 68 F-100 240 engine with a VIN #F10ALD41659. I located a slightly rusty 85 F-150
pickup with a VIN #1FTDF15YXFPA42261. I would like to know what would be needed to put my engine into the 1985. If someone could direct me to an information source, that would be great!
My pickup has an automatic transmission and the 1985 has a manual transmission.
You failed to tell us what motor was in the 85, but I decoded the vin and found it to be a 300 6 cyl motor, the 240 and 300 are very simular, and will bolt up to the same trans, you should be able to use the same motor mounts and towers. You are mostly just changing motors, there might be some accessories differences, but it should just fit.
