oil Filter

Does anyone know if you can use a synthetic oil filter with conventional oil?

I've never heard of a synthetic oil filter. What's the difference? If it's just an amsoil filter or something, then running regular oil will be fine.

i didnt know there was a diffrence either. fram has this xtendd guard oil filter for synthetic oil.but it doesnt say for synthetic oil only.

Most of us just run the Motorcraft filter,available at Walmart

Yes you can run convensional oil with that filter. Some high end filters like the Amsoil, K&N, Mobil 1, and Donaldson Endurance use a synthetic or synthetic blend filtering media. These filters a generally more efficient.

The filter media is a synthetic material.

It has nothing to do with synthetic oil.

Fleetguard's StrataPore LF-3974 is a good example of this technology.
