Was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what would drain my battery over nite and cause my horn to go off by itself?
went to start it this morning and my headlight switch was sounding like it was shorting out (crackling and stuff) and then the lights started flickering. so i took my car to work instead and just left it. earlier tonite my horn started blaring on it's own. had to disconnect both batteries to shut it off. the one is completely dead and the other is still good, but has a lot of corrosion on the bottom, well on the dish.
be easy on me though.. still quite the novice with my truck .. lol
The first thing I would check is for bare or frayed wiring either under the hood or under the dash - sounds like you have something shorting out to ground. Since your horn is going off, I would start with the steering column wiring...
Disconnect the positive battery cable and put a test light in between the battery and the cable, it will light up if you have a draw. Then start pulling fuses and see if the light goes out, if it does you have located the circuit giving you trouble. I wouldn't stop there I would check them all you could have more than one. If you have some after market stuff installed the light might stay on even with all the fuses out then try unhooking them too.

I have a 1982 f250. It has been sitting for 15 years. I got it running and installed a new interstate battery. I threw the battery in and it cranked right up. I let it sit overnight and it wouldn't crank in the morning? Where should I start to get this drain figured out?

I would start with the procedure johnboy427 posted above.
