rubber bed mat
Now, this is probably going to get a laugh, but this is my first pickup...
I have a nice rubber bed mat, with a jason cap over it. I'm thinking spring already
although it doesn't feel like it. I was planning on storing the cap over the summer. If i leave the mat will it blow away on the freeway? its quite heavy so my thought is that it will be fine, but would not want it to blow away at 70mph and crush a geo.

I had one in an old 76 I used to have, it was only about 1/4 thick... I never blew it out, but it would fold the section behind the wheel wells over and pile it between the wheel wells.. Actually it stayed in place pretty well, it only did the folding trick @ 85 or better..

If its the heavy mat i don't think it will go anywhere , but you could put a few screws in the front if your worried about it...Lew

I have a 3/8" bed mat for a full size bed. I never had a problem with it moving. It must weigh 40-50 lbs.
The mat makes the ride quieter. You silence an 8x6' drum and exhaust amplifier.

I have had the rubber bed mat in mine for years and it never blew out. I now have a toolbox that holds it down though, but I had no issues before. I love the mat.

It sure feels around 50-60lbs at a minimum, and darn akward to pull out
so I think I'll give it a try. thanks for the responses! Now, all I have to decide is if anyone will steal it...

I have one in my truck and haven't had any problems. I will on occasion notice it will flap a little near the cab but never moves or goes beyond that. Mine actually might be moving because of some dirt that I didn't totally get out before putting the mat back in.
