Its time to replace my carpet and I would like to go with black (currently tan). Did any of these trucks come stock with black, or am I limited to aftermarket?
If I do have to go with aftermarket, does anyone recommend any specific brand? Any pics?
Black should look pretty good. It seems to go with most any interior color.

I have googled it. I have bought an aftermarket carpet for a truck before and I was not pleased with the quality compared to stock. I have also looked at other brands and they were about the same. Thats why I was asking for opinions on aftermarket brands.

Hello fellow Mississippian! I would also like to know what's worth buying and what's not in the internet. My 2004 crew had a chain smoker owner and it really stinks/lingers and I recently quit so I really want that smell gone, and the carpet has seen better days.
Good luck in your search and let us know what you decide on. Hopefully some FTE members have replaced carpet and want to tell us all about it.

I have ordered from (Auto Carpet for Car, Truck, Van - Automotive Replacement Carpets) and it wasnt a bad product, but it just didnt compare to factory. There is a guy on Hwy 53 just outside of gulfport (kinda across from "the shed", Its an auto upholstry shop) and he has decent prices on carpet. He can even get it with a rubber backing that is similar to factory, but to me its still just not the same. You might want to go buy and talk to him and look at the product, maybe it will work for you. Im thinking about going and hitting up all the salvage yards today to see if anyone has anything in better shape than mine.... BTW, any pics of your truck, maybe I have seen you around.
Got some pics in my gallery but I just got the truck in early Dec 2009. If you're going to hit up an upholstery shop I highly recommend Dixie Seat Covers on Market St, Pascagoula. I had a rip in my drivers leather and $90 later it looks like it never was. Brought them two bow cushions from my 17' Bayliner and they did a supremely great job ($100/cushion). I believe they charge $45/hr and you can get deals if they have enough scrap on hand instead of ordering from a vendor.
I've never replaced carpet in anything I've ever owned so I'm completely green to the process. Based on what I've read and seen I would like to replace it and put down that twisted fabric remnant stuff instead of dynamat for sound deadening.
I wonder though, it is best to replace with carpet or to replace with vinyl?

Carpet or vinyl is a matter of preference.... Ive had fleet vehicles with vinyl and I wouldn't be able to stand it in my personal vehicle even though I do use it for work. I flip cars and on everything I buy I take the interior out and pressure wash the carpet outside of the vehicle. You would be amazed at how much of a difference this can make (if the carpet has no holes, rips, or missing fibers it will look brand new). Replacment carpet fits the floor board pretty much perfect, but the edges arent cut. You have to lay it out and then cut the edges down to size once its in the vehicle. Its not too bad of a job, but Its not the most fun thing in the world.
I never thought of that! I wonder if the dealer did that because it smells like ashtray something fierce. I got a new weekend project, thanks
After you wash it hang it over something like a saw horse and you going to have to let it dry in the sun for a day or 2. I think when I did my truck I just put the drivers seat back in and drove it with just that for two days.
I actually threw away the most recent LMC cat. when i was cleaning my truck out today... I paused for a second to look at the carpet before I tossed it.... They are higher than most for replacement carpet.
