H2E Mount

Been doing some research on putting a H2E turbo in. Looking into fabbing my own mount a lot cheaper and I am not in a hurry to go out and buy the kit. Curious if anyone has ever done this and if they have pics. Unsure if I want to go with the T4i or T4 mount. I think the T4 would give me more options. Want to get kit made up and ready to go in this summer and hopefully by then I'll have the 238cc in.

there are a lot of guys that have built their own mounts. it's not a bad process apparently, just really really time consuming to get it done right. here is one tip though. instead of trying to route your oil return back through the pedistal plan on returning the oil into the fuel pump hole in the valley. this is much easier and flows free enough so that oil doesn't go past the seals in the turbo and out the exhaust. i will dig up a link for you.

yeah I read about dumping the return into the fuel pump hole. As far as the oil supply goes how would it connect? I found a exhaust flange just have to fab my own uppies which is ok since the stock ones are leaking anyway.

here are a couple pics just to see what your up against. i can't find the other stuff i had found awhile back. here is the link... GT4294R - Powerstroke Nation

in that link andy was making a mounting kit for a GT4294. its very similar to like an S400, but with slightly different downpipe bends.. you can also see how he ran the oil feed.. its the stainless steel hard line that goes up the back of the turbo.

thanks going to do some more research into this. That guy on PSN seems to favor the
T4 or T6 mount over the T4i hypermax mount. More of a variety of turbos for the T4 and T6

exactly. not many turbos utilize the T4I, but it's easy to mount a turbo w/ a T4 mount to a T4I mount. i think all you gotta do is oval out one of the bolt holes on the turbine inlet of the turbo... IIRC its the top right bolt hole, but i can't think which one it was right now. i would research what turbo you think you wanna use and go with that. you said your going with 238 hyrbrids, but with what nozzles?? i mean ppl are using 30%, 80%, 100%, and 200% nozzles on that size injector. 238/80's you might be good just swapping to a SD pedistal and putting on a 38R???

unsure of nozzles as of right now, I would say at least 100%. I had talked with Jim about upgrading my 2's into the 238cc and I think he said I probably had 80% nozzles currently. What I will more than likely do is rebuild another set into the 238cc and then get rid of the 2's. And the 38r would be able to be upgraded like say the H2E or S300

100% nozzles would be kinda smokey and 200% would be real smokey. just remember that the larger the nozzle, less atomization, but if you can match that increased flow with air and be able to burn it then you will be good. 100's shouldn't be too terrible though. i'm going to run mine with either 350/200's or 350/400's. can't decide which nozzles i want. the 400's would be extremely smokey. hahahaha

neal is that the Hypermax mount kit? Right now I am trying to find a block so I can do a mock up of everything so I don't have to fight with trying to get everything right while the motor is in the truck

well just got off the phone with Carson Stauffer Diesel and I am going to get one of his kits. Got a good price on it and might order a set of 910 springs when I get the mount. Travis when I talked to him he thought it would be a good setup to run 238cc/200% with the 76mm Sledgehammer. My question is I think if I went with 238cc/100% would the 76mm SH be to big ? Would the 60-64mm S300 Swamps has be a better fit. He said that they will soon be coming out with adapter flanges for t4 to t4i and t6 to t4i.

Neal, did all of those holes have a use on your truck or were there only some of them that were utilized? And you don't have any measurments of the holes by chance do you?
